Mangal Dosha (Manglik) Check

Mangal Dosha is assessed from Mars’s house position in your kundli. Our engine checks it from the Lagna, Moon and Venus, grades the severity, and — crucially — applies the classical cancellation rules that most quick calculators skip.

What counts as Mangal Dosha?

Mars in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house gives Mangal Dosha, classically read for friction in partnership. Strength varies by which house, by whether it repeats from the Moon and Venus, and by Mars’s sign dignity — which is why a yes/no answer without severity is misleading.

Cancellations matter more than the dosha

The classics cancel or soften the dosha in many configurations — Mars in its own or exaltation sign, specific sign placements per house, aspect of benefics, matching dosha in both charts, and age-related attenuation among them. Our Doshas analysis lists every cancellation that applies to your chart with its reason, so you see the net result, not a scare label.

How we verify accuracy →

Common questions about Mangal Dosha, answered from the classical rules our engine actually applies.

Does Mangal Dosha mean a marriage will fail?

No. It is one factor among many, frequently cancelled outright, and classically balanced when both partners carry it. Read it with severity and cancellations — never as a verdict.

Is the check from Lagna, Moon or Venus?

All three. Tradition weighs the Lagna chart first, then the Moon and Venus charts; a dosha repeating across them is stronger, one appearing only in one is milder. Our analysis shows each separately.

Both of us are Manglik — what now?

Matching doshas classically neutralise each other (dosha-samya). The kundli-matching tool applies this automatically alongside the guna milan score.
